replacement brake pads / shoes

hey,

i searched all over for the answer to this Q, but found nothing.

i went to pep boys, autozone and strauss auto to get replacement brake pads for a 2002 mitsu lancer and they all said its non stock or they are not making it yet.

is there another mitsubishi car that i can say that will directly fit a 2002 lancer es? i dont want any high performance pads, i just want them replaced so i dont get into an accident! lol.

pls help, b/c i refuse to buy the dealer ones or pay extra to have it "special order" at pep boys here in nyc.

Basically, I'm thinking the answer is "no." The only place that I've heard of people finding the pads is Pep Boys, so if yours doesn't have them, you're pretty much out of luck. Your only options are to get the ****ty OEM ones that will die fast or do what many of us have done: accept the fact that it's gonna cost a little bit, but get the Axxis pads from RRM. They are pricey, but they're supposed to perform better and last longer than stock. That's about your only option.

Kragen didn't carry them stock but I got the Raybestos pads for 40 bucks I think. They're a non-stock item but they got them in the next day.

you can get axxis ultimate from nopionline.com for cheaper than from rrm. i got OEM from napa once though. but they are about the same price as axxis from nopi - roughly $50-60

raybestos part numbers:

RPD904
or
PGD904

I just went throught this a month ago. I got them in stock at Checkers. Make sure it's one of those part numbers. They tried to sell me RA pads, they're different form the ES/OZ pads.
