Seibon Carbon Fiber Hood

Hey guys I'm looking into Carbon Fiber hoods. I've heard great things about Seibon and VIS just curious on what you guys have to say. I'm looking for OEM style hood and one that'll fit right. No crazy gaps etc.

Pictures would be great, personal experience too.

I did however head over to my local AMS and they quoted me on a Seibon one for 544.99 + 200.00 for shipping. Again your thoughts guys?

thanks

i had a VIS carbon fiber hood, it's good quality, no yellowing, cracking or anything. I thought the finish is good and the quality is top notch. However, the fit isn't as good as OEM but very close. It's light weight too.

VIS / Seibon hoods are known to start falling apart after they begin to age. The exoskeleton on my hood has peeled apart and I had to refurbish my hood to keep it from falling apart while I was driving.

this. mine started fading/peeling. i've had it recleared, but it needs to be done again. i finally just took it off and went back to the stocker. it's for sale for $200 if anyone's interested. I had a VIS hood on my honda accord back in the day and it was complete garbage. the seibon was only marginally better as far as durability of the clear coat.

They are actually not much lighter then the stock hood (may be even heavier). Best hood to get would be one from RobiSpec.

Don't buy a seibon cf hood. They yellow, crack, oxidize, etc. In addition to that, pretty much all cf hoods with the exception of the legit dry cf hoods weigh more than our oem hood by a pound or so. If you want the cf look, just get someone to put the 3m di-noc material on your stock hood.

My Seibon is like 3 years old. No cracking at all. Hell it's not hardly faded. Fitment 100% perfect and I got it shipped for <500 to my door. A+

Too bad the hood I have for sale is for a regular lancer (02 to 03).

The hood I have is VIS. Very nicely made. Never installed though.

Seibon is the best product for the money on the market right now for OEM style hoods. We are having a sale on them as ActofDuty said but they are even a little bit cheaper now than that price

We offer an OEM style carbon hood for the VIII. We also offer discounted pricing to EvoM members when they purchase directly through me.
