Just got an EVO!

I had a few srt-4's in the past, crx's, etc. I always had my heart set on either a wrx or an evo. I found a 06 GSR in pretty much mint condition with a good carfax at a dealership for $21k with 36,000 miles. I went and picked it up the next day. I'm wondering first did I get as good of deal as I thought I did? Second what should I do/check over now that I got it?

I'm thinking since I'm in WI my first mod is going to need to be snow tires (any suggestions???)

also the car has a very large exhaust I'm thinking of putting the stock one back on, or is that generally as loud as the bigger ones that are put on aftermarket.

Thanks!

congrats bro. enjoy and if you plan on driving it in the winter it's going to be a blast. seems like a good deal to me. if you want more power, leave the exhaust on since it's on there already. depending on which one. i have an invidia exhaust and it's not loud til you throttle it. first thing i'd do is get all the drivetrain fluids done if it wasn't done yet. i just did mine this year and man was it some nasty stuff in the rear and front diff. good luck.

Congrats on the buy man, but shouldn't you have checked it over before you bought it. With that mileage, if its clean that's a pretty good deal.

Make sure your drivetrain fluids are all up to date (front/center/rear differentials, ACD, engine oil)

Yep. Unfortunatley it was one of those deals where I didnt have the ability to do everything before I got it, it was pretty far away. I did check everything over but as far as the oils being drained that wasnt something I did. Is that something I should do myself or take it in for?

Thanks,
Eric

Assuming it was stock forever, I'd say that's a good deal.

If you feel comfortable doing this then go for it. I've done mine multiple times with no problems. You just need a place to work and a jack / jack stands.

Thanks everyone thread has been very helpful so far!

is there a sticky that I should be looking at for what to look for when buying a used car, etc?

Also I got the fidelity gold extended warranty gold plan for $1,000 I took cancellation paperwork as I told the guy I wanted to do more research. Has anyone had experience with that company? I've read a few reviews that said it was garbage...

Thanks!

+1 at least on a performance/sports car. No way they will honor anything that goes wrong.
