Slight Buyer's Remorse..
Slight Buyer's Remorse..
So I've had my Evo for a little over a month now, and I'm loving most things about the car, but I remember thinking when I had my Maxima, that my next car I bought would have to be an auto, but when I test drove this beast, I just fell in love. Thinking back now, I kind of wish I wouldnt have been so impulsive and shopped around a bit, and I probably would have realized the MR was a better choice for me.
I'm looking now at the '10 SE's. They seem perfect, I don't need to drop the 40+k on an MR, and it seems people are getting awesome deals on the SE's right now, like 32k otd and stuff. The 2000 rebate and 0% APR are also enticing me. I'm at a point where the trade-in on my car is still higher then what I owe, so I really wouldn't be out anything, just tackin on a few more 0's to the debt I'm in. I'm justifying it to myself by saying, yeah I may tack on another 5-6k of debt, but I would spend that on a DD beater in May anyway to not have to drive a stick back and forth to work every day. I still have all the factory parts for my ride, so I would throw those all back on, can't do anything about the headlights unfortunately.
I guess I'm just typing this out to keep myself from pulling the trigger on this lol. Somebody talk me out of this!

it cant be that bad man.. the stock clutch on the evo x's r so light anyway!
id stick with it man. it does get annoying every once in a while but having a manual tranny is great once u get on the open road.

Seriously... your gonna go to the SST and be like "WTF COOL DOWN... STFU N00B" as your going around the track.
Keep your car. You own a legend. It's not worth the extra debt.

I have a GSR and a SE. I love the SE and it's great for DD. If your car is bothering you that much just trade it put your mods on the SE and enjoy your day to day driving. The SE is still a blast to drive and at the end of the day it's still a Evo.
Saying that the wife drives the SE 3miles each way to work everyday. I drive my GSR 60-100+ miles a day in back to back, bumper to bumper Dallas triffic and wouldn't trade it for anything.

seriously, it cant be that bad. maybe getting stuck behind tractors and **** but i doubt theres that much traffic that makes you regret the car (have a friend in birmingham with a manual box truck that he drives for work.)

My regret was buying the MR and hence why i traded for a GSR. Although the MT can get annoying in traffic, i love it. I wouldn't ever go back to auto. Both are great cars don't get me wrong you just more of a driving experience with the GSR
I drive the SE often since the wife is pregos and has a hard time getting in and out of the lowered GSR, so anywhere we go together it's in the stock SE. To me it just feels so detached. I can't explain it. It's an Evo, it handles, it's fast (really fast with the SST) but it just doesn't feel the same.
i dont blame you if your getting sick and tired in the traffic with the GSR... i used to drive a honda Si as my DD but living in LA means dealing with heavy traffic, with the SST traffic is not a PITA anymore. i dont track so i dont need to worry the "SLOW DOWN" on my screen..sst is perfect for DD
Keep your current car. I guarantee that if you did do the trade, in a few weeks we'd all be seeing a post entitled "Slight Buyer's Remorse Redux". If you can appreciate both the SST and manual versions of the Evo then you will live a painful cycle of yearning for what you don't have in your current version because it's human nature to want what we don't have.
Oh yeah.... *VIRTUAL ***** SLAP* - snap out of it.

I did the opposite. I had the MR and couldnt justify having auto and missed shifting a lot. So, I had to trade it in for GSR and couldnt be happier. It is not bad bro, I think you are exaggerating.
