Water pump for 60k maintenance

Water pump for 60k maintenance

is the water pump really necessary in the 60k maintenance? sorry for the noob question but i just bought my evo and it has 58k miles so im already thinking about that maintenance. thanks!

I would do it. Because if it starts to leak after you did the timing belt, you have to rip it all apart again just for the stupid pump.

it's not necessary, and not in the schedule until 120k. that's when I did mine, and I had no issues. I don't plan on doing it again unti 240k. if it's still in good shape, replacing it 60k miles too soon just seems like a waste of money to me.

Get your water pump changed when you do your timing belt servicing. Therefore you will save the labor cost and the time.

I bought my car with 61k, and it started leaking at 62k. When your doing timing belt do it, it would be foolish not to.
