im new to the site, so let me introduce myself. My name is eric im from southern cali 23 years old. i started out with a 97 integra ls which i converted to a ls vtec turbo. i ended up rolling the car in a freak accident off the 5 freeway near magic mountain, axles cracked spun my car from the left most lane n flipped in into a ditch. my next car was a 2000 integra gsr which i still have rght now. just finished college have a pretty good full time job. i had an evo 8 or 9 and an s2000 in mind. test drove both an s2000 and evo 8. after driving the evo 8 i realized it was the way to go considering that s2000 as nice as it is, is only a 2 seater with no trunk space.
now i have a couple questions ive looked thru wikipedia and google looking for answers. ive found some but not everything i wanted to know. i wanted to know the difference between an evo 8 vs evo 8 mr vs evo 9 vs evo 9 mr. and if its worth in both cases between the 8 and 9, if the mr model is worth the extra money i would have to spend.
thank you for all your input and im looking forward to reading threads and posting in this forum

Well eric welcome aboard first off. Secondly what is exactly within your spending budget. The evo you seek shouldnt make a difference. The 8 or the 9 are both great cars. The 8 can be just as fast as the 9. The 8 is basic the 9 has mivec and a slightly bigger turbo and a slightly better fuelpump from what Ive heard the 8 has a its limitations.
The 9 has slightly quicker pickup than the 9 stock for stock onces its modded it wont matter. The mr has h.i.d's an aluminum roof which is lighter and red stiching in the seats and some interior fabs like the stock guages for oil ,water and voltage and slightly fancier wheels for the track along with a slightly stiffer suspension and 6 gears and vortex generator.
The rs is almost the same as the mr but without all the usual bling like power windows,a/c,power steering and a radio or wing. If you just want the usual just get the basemodel gsr.
Hey guys am also new...well i am familiar wit EVos...lemme intro myself. My name is Ainsley and i fell in love wit Evos since the Evo 6 back in my home land Jamaica. didnt get the chance to officially drive one till recently. i was like a kid on a roller coaster for the first time. i was surprised that the turbo spooled up so soon at 3k rpm. So i decided that i wanted one.
I am looking for the MR version though cause i am tired of driving 5spd, had a accord, scion xb...all 5spd. Now my dream car Evo MR!!!
