Mileage goes way down, so unless you want the power it's not worth it

i run E85 everyday just because i live next to a station, but like chkmgnt said, it's not worth it for the cost. horribe gas mileage on the corn juice. if you want good gas mileage the evo shouldnt be the car you DD... i'll be picking up a honda civic hatch soon for this reason.

While it may be cheaper in the long run you don't save as much with how fast you go through it. Skip it unless you are going to use it for the power.

In my using e85, I find it's a wash between the lower cost per gallon and the change in gas mileage. In the end your fuel cost per year will be about the same, but the performance is much better. If you can live with the inconvenience of having to hunt down a station for refilling, it's certainly the best bang for the buck mod you can do to your car.

I'm willing to bet that was mostly highway miles and/or you babying it the whole way. The best I could muster in the city was about 16-17mpg and if I really wanted to have fun, it would be about 9-11mpg lol.

I've been running E85 in my daily driven Evolution 8 for over 4 yrs now. No problems at all and even in cold weather it always starts. If you ever break down your motor down the road, you'll notice how clean the internals are. For everyone who complaining about gas mileage of E85.....Did you buy your Evolution for great mileage?

Over the last years on E85 I've gotten 16-17MPG in City and 18-19MPG Highway.

you won't save any money switching to E85 on a DD over standard premium. in fact, it will probably cost you slightly more in the long run.

thats alot of great information that all makes alot of since i run my Tundra on e85 most of the time and unleaded others times. i live near a station but for my evo i was wondering and wanting to way the options of running it for the higher octane. so also wondering why must u upgrade the injectors i know the pump ect but injectors unless ur over what 400 WHP why is it necessary? im sst and want to keep my car within the 350TQ realm. so im thinking intercooler piping turbo back thats it.

it would take you a looong time if ever to actually start seeing any savings....gotta think about the tune, fuel pump and injectors that are a must in order to run this fuel.

whats the deal with the injectors i run 90lb injectors on my twin turbo 5.0 which should equate to about 900 cc (lbs/hr X 10.5 = cc/min.) puts down 980hp or so and we are upgrading to 1000cc? i dont wanna get into the weeds about this but more what if any are people seeing benefit wise to 93 other than performance. but it seems most people only do for performances.
