Time for synthetic? If so what kind?

So I'm at 1200 mi on a new stock motor with stock turbo. Do I go to synthetic now and what kind?

Yes, dump the breakin dinosaur oil/filter and go with a high quality synthetic. There are a multiplicity of opinions on what is the best brand and viscosity to run.

you talking about in an evo? the manual says:

CAUTION
• Do not use conventional petroleum based motor oil.
Using conventional motor oil may cause engine or tur-
bocharger damage.
• Do not used "blends" of conventional oil and synthetic
oil.

so to answer your question it was time 1200 miles ago
