Bov question
Hi
I was just wondering and i searched for this but could not really tell...... here goes
I know that The Recirc BOV vents the air back into the intake and if you are still on stock ecu , you should use a Recir BOV due to idling issue
Now the VTA vents the pressure out and makes the loud (Wooosh!) sound
Now I used to have a HKS SSQV Bov in my evo ix. Had some idling problem , not really a huge deal but was annoying, So i change to a Tial QR, no more idling problems
Now on paper it seems the recirc would be the better choice since your are re using boost pressure and makes me wonder why do the VTA exist then.
I think i Heard that they are made to handle more boost and that you can run then fine with an aftermarket ecu but still why go all the trouble if the recirc its fine.
But why would you want a VTA ,
The question is meant power wise and to increase the life of the turbo
I dont care about the idle problem, i know what it is already
I think that extra pressure that is being vent back to my turbo my cause some damage but this is just an idea.
With the HKS SSQV i sometimes checked the turbo for shaft play , none at all , it held 25 psi stock ix turbo pump gas fine. Tial QR holding boost ok also
Also Iam on the works on getting a 1st Gen FP Green so iam really concern on this as i want my car not only to make more power but to run efficiently
The HKS SSQV is for sale also it includes the hks ic pipe

Generally only VTA if you're running a speed density setup, or if you really really just want the noise. VTA with a MAF will cause jumpy idle, stalling, jerky shifting, etc.
Your QR will be perfect for whatever you throw at it.

But why do I some crazy whp Evo's using VTA , dont tell they want that woosh sound.......
I think recirc bov with Big Profile turbo's cause some kind of overkill on the turbo and they must vta
