Need opinions/ suggestions

Not sure if this is the right section but general sounds general enough for this thread. Ok I need help deciding on my next set off mods. Going around and looking for stuff just makes me want almost everything out there and being a girl well shopping is kind of a bad gene on me. It has been a while since I add anything to my baby EVO IX GSR here is the list of actual mods in no particular order :

O2 dump
Walbro 255lph
Injen intake
AEM EBC
AEM wideband
tune (duh ha!)
injectors
BOV

The needs:

I moved to FL from PR cops here aren't as forgiving as back home and lets just say we have had a bad relationship in the 8 months I've lived here so mod wishes have changed a little. (back in the day I was focus on mods for the go not for the looks as you can all tell by my mod list)

First things first:
I'm deciding between 3 radars:
escort 9500ix (has cool features but i dont really need the gps so its not my top option at the moment)
escort redline
valentine one

The rocks in the highway have been chipping my paint out like crazy!and the lovebugs are not as loving as they might sound. I'm debating weather or not I should get 3m clear wrap. I'm not sure if its too late knowing that my car already has chipped paint in multiple spots and its an 06, to add to this it seats outside all day every day. I'm worried that the clear wrap will get "yellowy" with the sun (FLorida) and won't be "invisible" since the car is not brand new hence my debate between the clear wrap and a regular bra. I also need help finding a bra because after tons of search have only found hood bras and its the front bumper I'm more concerned about.
So question number 2 summary: bra vs 3m clear for front paint chips on my situation

My center console armrest is fading, looking like crap pretty much after searching around the only cover I found was a cf cover (this thing: http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...?productid=741) which really doesn't do anything for me at all. I'm interested in the same type just black, I could go ahead and puchase this one and just paint it black but if I can find it black to begin with would save me some work. So if anyone knows of where I can get a black one or what would be even better a leather cover pleaase let me know as I would really appreciatte it.

Any help and opinions are greatly appreciatted

On another note I'd definately do a TBE if you haven't already followed by intercooler piping. Besides that you have pretty much all the basic bolt on mods. Depending on where you would want to go with your baby you can either do internal work on your motor or get a larger turbo. Before those two though you'd probably want a larger intercooler .

Edit: Your mod list sounds good, I'd just do the first two things I mentioned and get retuned. You'll be happy with that for a while.

Most people call me JJ on other forums, but yeah np hopefully someone else will be willing to share some advice.

Personally though I would not waste my money again on a radar. If you get one you will more than likely some day see what I mean. They are essentially useless in the majority of cases. Case and point if you are speeding and a cop is shooting laser and gets you there is nothing that will help you. By the time the detector goes off it's too late. Unfortunately I know from experience . Today I don't even use mine and just keep it in my glove box because I got sick of it.

In terms of the other thing you mentioned I'd go with the 3m clear wrap because it won't cause any scratches/damage like a bra might over time. Before applying it of course make sure the paint is as clean as possible. I would get someone to buff the area whether or not it appears like it needs to be.

Hope this helped .

ive got a v1 radar and its been pretty useless like the person above me said, i dont normally speed and so i have no use for it except when on backroads with a cop sitting on the side of the road which i hope never happens.

for the armrest, these guys are vendors on this site and they make leather shift boots and arm rest cover to replace the worn out one. http://www.redlinegoods.com/

All evo ix's except for the SSL have a fake suede armrest.

goto http://www.redlinegoods.com/ like suggested.

Radar detector's are only good if ur local area sticks to using K or KA guns. ur in FL so u will see only K KA and laser so u can turn off x band. and if u really drive over the limit all the time u should get some laser jammers to take care of the laser problem.

I suggest u get a V1 because of its range (alot of false positives), good laser detection (again useless if not jamming), and great quick trigger ID (only useful if u aren't the one getting hit). For the size of the evo i would only use the blinder m27 or better jammers.

My SSL had the vinyl cover, so I couldn't visualize.

Is it possible for you to recover it yourself? Get a piece of vinyl from a fabric store and replace it. Seems simple enough, plus that linked site someone had above shows how to install their covers. Should be about the same.

I have the leather recaro seats but the armrest is the fake suade material that just looks worn at the moment. Ill post pics soon but as far as that goes I was looking over the idea of the cover since I saw the CF one and thought maybe they sell a black one, apparently they don't. I'll probably end up buying vynil and doing it myself I'm sure it won't be that hard I've done door panels in the past for different cars but just wanted a lazy fix lol.

For the radar I'm looking into getting a jammer as well for laser signals but I figured I should start with the radar and then move forward from there.

Thanks all for the replies
