You won't find one in the new Lancers, that's for sure. They have the SOHC MIVEC, not the DOHC.

the mivec is still relatively new here in the US. I'm not a big mitsu engine guru (as all the different codes hurt my brain within seconds). Try www.venus-auto.com and see what they have. They don't have much in the way of mitsu engines, but if you call them, they may be able to help answer your question. I consider them to be one of the better body part/engine importers as they import a LOT of JDM stuff

They are 2.4 MIVEC. Previously Mitsu had put MIVEC in the mirage overseas as a 1.8 and I think either 1.5 or 2.0 ( could be wrong). In any event the MIVEC wasn't very successful. Apparently they had a LOT of reliability issues and were a ***** to tune. No where near as user friendly as VTEC, sadly. The tuning world would be a completely different place right now. But I'm no expert- this is all from vague memory.
Anyway the hookup in the states is gonna be a beast. You might wanna talk to Dave at RPW and see how much a MIVEC SOHC head would be out of OZ (Australia people, Australia). I'm not even sure our little ECU can handle the change to MIVEC much less DOHC. DOHC MIVEC would probably pop it's cork.
As long as you're spending that kind of chedda' you might as well talk about getting a whole block sent up from down under and have a totally unique lancer. Who knows, maybe they have a front cut incl electronics that you can try to swap in.

Just be sure to tell him you're blackmailing Paris Hilton with another sex tape to fund this little venture (or maybe you won the lottery). Otherwise he has a bad habit of blowing off this type of inquiry.

I saw that Foster Autoparts had a wrecked Evo in their lot a little while back, might check with them to see if they still got it and if the engine is any good.

MIVEC should've been on the 1.6L 4 banger 4G92 and the 2.0L V6 6G...and I forget it's code. You'd need a second generation MIVEC head, ECU, timing belt, various and sundry parts, and some higher compression pistons to make the output similar to the original MIVEC motor since the Lancer's 4G94 while having more displacement, doesn't have the elevated Honda style compression. Just to reiterate as well, the new LRA runs the 2.4L MIVEC SOHC 4G69 motor. Run a search as a vast majority of all this is repeat information, ESPECIALLY the Evo swap.
