New to EvoM and looking to get into an evo
A bit about myself:
Im an army combat medic currently deployed in Afghanistan on my 2nd deployment only a few months in still got a while left out here but im saving my pay to buy an evo when I get home. Money wont be too much of a problem I plan on straight out buying it with cash, and my intentions are to get an MR. I currently own an 04 Subaru STi but it really isnt my thing, before that a 93 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR, and before that a 93 Mazda RX-7, and I think an evo will be the right car for my HP goals and driving style. As always forums seem to be the best place to come for information any wisdom anyone can pass my way would be great.
As ive said I am pretty certain about wanting an MR, I read a bit about the differences in year models in the Beginners Read Me: New To Your Evo Or Looking For An Evo? thread but they werent specific to the MR models. Ive heard the 6 speed trans is much weaker than the 5 speed trans in evos? Which is better the 05 or 06? I dont know too muh about mitsubishis MIVEC variable valve timing that was a feature only in 06+ models? Is it worth getting an 06 for that? Anything else yall can let me know about those years and about owning an evo in general is greatly appreciated thanks.
