Newbie checking in...
Hello, my name is Bob and I just wanted to throw a newbie shout to the forum. I come from the Nissan family where I had a '95 300ZX TT. She made a modest 350hp/370tq (all bolt-ons), but I'm more into the twisties anyhow. I loved that car to death, but once the kiddies came, she sat in the driveway and started rotting away. I think I put 3k on her in 4 years---darn kids
So I let her go to someone whom can enjoy her and has a garage to keep her in good condition as she had a mere 71k on her.
Anywho, I'm looking for a DD that I can put the kiddies in, yet Daddy can go out and have some fun in too. I test drove both the STI and Evo, I'm liking the Evo quite a bit more. It feels way more responsive to me (similar to the Z), again I don't have lofty hp goals, 350ish is quite enough in my world, just right for taking corners! I'm pretty handy with a wrench, so hopefully I won't break the wallet doing some upgrades--although, I feel it can't get any worst than the Z was when it came to buying quality upgrades--the market is thinner than most for whatever reason.
I currently drive a '04 Lancer Sportback (yeah, it's a wagon
), so I'm dying to get something I can have some fun in...starting my lurking, I mean homework, looking to buy something in 6 months or so. I'm liking the site, seems to be a good bit of info here similar to twinturbo.net for the Z. So, I'm just dropping a line to say "Hey" and look forward to owning an Evo in the near future.
Here are some pics of the Z:

And a cameo the vicious SPORTBACK-lol
