Question What is the currect PRICE for a Evo 8?

I really want to buy a Evo 8, mainly because i want to be different from the crowd of my friends which really are a bunch of rsx and civic/honda/wrx owners. i think it'll be a different experience. my question is that the evo isnt really that cheap either. im looking to purchase one in mid 2012. Anyone know if the price will fall on a used one by then? what is the current price on them because im seeing them from $14k-$19k my budget is around 12k.

you can find a high mileage or salvage one for around 12. One of the for sale threads has a clean title 03 going for 11500.

If you're planning on getting one in mid-2012, you're looking a bit early. Like others have said, the budget you mentioned isn't going to give you too many choices.

You can buy a wrecked one providing that its not ****ed up really bad excuse my language. Then build it up from there sure it takes time but atleast youll save if you know how to price it out to fairly on how much you plan to spend.

I'm looking as well and can't get over how much an 8 year old car costs.

Red 03 with 81k miles selling for $19,999. (looked at it 2 weeks ago and it had front end damage. Looked at it today, fixed, same price)

blue 04 with 67k miles, couple mods (rpm tach, cf hood, black wheels) selling for $25,000.

I understand different parts of the country have different prices but good gawd.

Some of the prices out there are aweful.
I would feel comfortable paying 17,000 for a lower mileage (25-50k) 8 or 9.

Patience is the key, I was looking for the right evo for years, literally. Then I bought My IX with 52000km (32500 miles) for $28k NZ (approximately $22k US). When any other IXs with twice the milage are going for around $32k NZ ($25k US).

You'll know when you find the one you want for the price you want to pay.

As everyone else has said, it is really a battle between what you want in a car and what you want to pay. Lots of evo owners think that they can get their money in mods back if they find the right buyer. And to some extent that is true, but I think that you should determine what is important to you, low miles stock car, low price with mods, etc and go from there. I live in socal and it is hard to find someone who doesn't think their evo is worth 20K, even if it is a 2003.
