Talking Possible new Evo owner

Hello all! I just wanted to drop you guys a line and introduce myself by saying hello I'm a fairly big car "enthusiast" and I currently own a Neon SRT-4. I absolutely adore that car- probably the most fun you can have out of a fwd 4-door car. I'm currently serving in the military but in 348 days I'll be out so because of our financial situation from dumb decisions we've made in the past- it turns out that we can make a huge profit by selling the neon as it has a brand new engine from dodge installed in it. My wife eventually talked me into selling it to help pay off our bills- and in return when we move back to GA and get established, I get to choose my next car w/o any stipulations That brings me to two different car forums- EvoM and the Supra forums. My modding style is basically 1.) Looks 2.) Performance 3.)Strip/track. I'm a very safe and humble driver, and the type of car I'm looking for is a car that will last me my lifetime in terms of modding/rebuilding. You know how older generations purchase 67 Mustangs and restore them or trick them out throughout their lifetime? This is the type of car I'm looking for in terms of the supra or the evo. I currently have 3 children so the Evo would be more practical- but the Evo/Supra wouldn't be my DD, so I don't think it'd bother me as much although taking the family to supra meets would be out of the question. The Supra would be life my midlife crysis car, almost my "Vette"- 5 speed targa top twin turbo, no kids in the back.

So again- neither the Supra or the Evo would be my DD, I'd purchase the car and stick it in my garage to begin building them up. One of these cars will be the car I pour my heart and soul into- for the rest of my life pretty much. I plan on taking them across country sometimes even just to attend a single car meet. I've still got some time to make a decision- so I'll probably spend it between the two boards. Hopefully I'll be able to be apart of the AWD family soon

I forgot to mention that I was looking between the 9 and 10s Evo vs the 96-97 Supra- Both cars I'd want to be low 11's cars, maybe even quicker

I was in the same boat minus the kids. I went with the evo first. I will keep the evo and get a Supra later in life. The AWD and amazing handling of the evo is hard to beat.

I'm not a fan of Supras, or even old cars in general. I think they are ugly as crap. So I personally would say Evo

Evo. Start with a fresh car so you're not fixing/repairing 15 years worth of wear, tear, abuse, and neglect from the get-go.
