New here. Just purchased an Evolution 9.5

Hello,

New to the forums and to Evolutions. I just purchased what I consider to be a cherry 2006 Evo IX. This forum has already helped me out considerably with a diff question in the tech section and for that, I thank you guys.
Little about me: name is Ben, I have a long past in Honda/Acura (10+ years) but only because I couldn't afford an EVO/EVO upkeep, until recently.

here's a picture of the car...

New here. Just purchased an Evolution 9.5-hdwdi.jpg

Also maybe a Mod, or Admin could help me fix my name so it reads: Crucial9, b/c i can't spell.

Thanks in advance everyone!

It's sometimes called a 9.5 because it is a SE (Special Edition). I'm basing that on the Diamond black finish wheels and SE lip, which if factory makes it an SE model IX.

The SE's were made around the end of 06 and sold through 07, hence called the 9.5 because it was a "later" model, but not an 07.

Great looking vehicle. Well, how does it compare to previous Honda / Acura's you've owned.

Haha no comparison really. My Honda's were just ecno boxes I modded to go fast, this already is fast.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

never heard of 9.5.... I guess X SEs are 10.5s... and Mivec is standard on all 9s.

SEs are nice though. Have fun keeping it clean. Owned one black car.... sucked cleaning it every other day... Looks great clean.

yeah i just read this in the "beginners read me" sticky.

"SE models available as late year 06s (known as Evo 9.5s)'

and about the black car thing, I totally agree, I also have a black 09 Fit Sport, pain in the rear to keep clean, but I wanted to keep the fleet matching.
