Well i just hit the dreadful 60k mark. I understand basically what needs to be done, but im stuck between two different kits.

Water Pump

I think ive read every thread made on this topic, no joke. But its just alot of money so i just had to ask for myself. I'd like to save some money and go with the regular timing kit and get the plugs and wires locally. But if everything in the gold kit is really necassary then i dont mind too much paying up. I noticed it does come with the serpentine belt unlike the timing kit.

I dont think everything in the kit is really required I did the timing belt kit from stm for around 500 bucks which includes the timing belt, water pump, balance shaft and all the tensioners and pulleys. I dont know about the plugs and wires. I change my plugs every oil change but have never had any issue with that kit.

 

Timing kit, acc belt. Spark plugs and wires.

 

How often did you do the water pump on your journey to 253 k? I got the " gold" kit and currently working on the car now.
