Question What is a "low end noise"?

I am looking at getting an evo and came across one for really cheap, but the guy says it has a "low end noise" when it is warmed up.

It sounds like he doesn't have a clue about what the problem is and is just selling the car because he thinks something catastrophic is going to happen.

I like to be optimistic and want to see what you professionals think it could be, because if it is not a huge deal and can be fixed for $1000 or less then I may consider buying it.

Worst comes to worst and it needs an engine rebuild, how much will that cost?

It does have a roll cage I am told so it may have been raced at some point in it's life.

Any helpful input would be awesome.

Thanks guys.

If it has a roll cage then odds are it was beaten on at some point in its life but it COULD still be perfectly fine and or just needs a small, somewhat cheap fix

Pics?

You really have to listen to it.

Could be a rod, crank, etc. Engine rebuilds can start at $1,500 and up depends on what you are able to do yourself.
