Hello all, looking to get an EVO soon!
I wanted to pop in and say hello to all the Evo enthusiasts!
Little about myself, I am a car guy through and through and enjoy scca racing. I am personally looking to buy a good quality Evo 8 or 9 (preferably a 9). My plans are to race the car in scca solo and run in STU class to be more competitive.
I currently have a pontiac G8 GT with the 6.0L V8 with some go fast goodies and a lot of suspension work done to it. I am in the process of selling this car to purchase an Evo, so if anyone is looking for a good family car/weekend warrior this is a great choice for a car. Shoot me a PM if anyone is interested, I will even throw in a $100 finders fee if you can help me get it sold. I also have race tires and a tire trailer that can be worked into the deal if wanted.

I am 40 years old married with two kids and live in the St. Louis area. I plan to pop into the regional area of the forum to meet some local Evo owners.
I am looking forward to get to know people here on the forum and excited to learn more about these cars!
Cheers,
JJ

Thanks, I am hoping for a quick sale on my car so I can purchase the Evo 9 that I have my eye on!
I was told to either get an 8 or 9 by most people and an Evo owner said that the 9 was basically the 8 but with the bugs fixed. I like the front end of a 9 a little bit better and a year newer, but that is pretty much it. So I would definitely consider buying an 8 also.
Please if there is something that I am missing on the advantages of an 8 over a 9, I am all ears! Like I mentioned earlier, I am pretty new in the Evo scene and at this point doing a lot of research.
Cheers,
JJ
