Trying a new turbo from GTPumps, 792. Should be the same as the 762, but with a little more power. So far I've ran into trouble of compressor surge over 26psi, so waiting for an anti surge cover to be make up, then wind the boost back up to 32psi.

Thanks guy.
I'm on the East side (Brisbane) mrr5049, but if you get time to head over I'm sure the guys over here will be happy to meet up and do a cruise day through the mountains.

As the years pass by, your first Car will gradually rust and die. But thinking of those everlasting sweet memories, will always remind you of the time when you first turned on the ignition keys and heard your Car's engine roar to life. Congratulations on your new Ride.

Thanks guys, taken some years to get where it is today. Mainly focused on track days now, so only looking for those mods to help get better times around the track.

Finally grabbed some MCA Reds after so many years. Last thing left is some wider track wheels and I'm set

Changed exhaust from 3" to 3.5" and made some good power. But turbo got compressor surge and broke, so had it repaired and changed cams from HKS: Intake: 272 with 10.8mm lift, Exhaust: 278 with 11mm lift. Popped in some GSC R2's: Intake: 274 with 12.1mm lift, Exhaust: 274 with 11.9mm lift. Helped a bit, but still getting some surge above 27psi.

Nothing wrong with the turbo, just a different tuner. I have noticed a couple tuners get compressor surge as it starts getting past 27 psi, and the tell me to go to a Garrett turbo, but I just can't afford a whole new setup. My usual tuner who lives interstate never gets surge at all on 34 psi, so it makes me wonder what they are doing so differently.

i have been reading stuff for years, I see consistent good reviews from Ben Benchmark but he is up near Newcastle. I am thinking of going 71HTA with tiptronic flex fuel, 1200s, S2s, just as a step up from my more stock setup. I just want a refresh step up from mild stock which I have now.

Ben was the tuner I was talking about, he's great. I was getting him to tune my car when I was living down in Sydney. Best to have a chat to him on your goals, and he'll let you know what path to take and sort you out, he makes his own kits for numerous things, including the flex fuel system for the OEM ECU.
