New convert to the dark side (newbie)

Hi all,

The FAQ said to make an introduction post. My name is Mike. Most of my life I've owned Nissan GTRs. R32GTR, R33GTR and the Nissan Stagea 260RS which is pretty much a R33GTR in a wagon body.
I've always liked the look of the Evo, but to be honest I never considered owning one. As fate would have it, I found myself in need of a vehicle, and looking at the local GTR market, I couldn't find anything I was happy with.
One thing led to another and I ended up getting an Evo 6 Tommi Makinen Edition.

For those that are interested, it has the following:

Tomei Cam Gears.
Tomei 270 Pro Cams.
Tomei Head Studs.
Tomei 1.5 Metal Head Gasket.
Tomei Valve Springs.
Tomei Titanium Retainers.
Tomei Expreme Manifold.
Tomei Expreme Dump.
Tomei Inlet Gaskets.
HKS 7640 Turbo.
HKS Twin Plate Clutch.
HKS Boost Controller.
HKS Spark Plugs.
HKS Oil Filter.
HKS Timing Belts.
Sard 800cc Injectors.
Power FC ECU.
Head completely redone and ported.
Walbro Fuel Pump.
Monster Sport Water Pump.
RallyArt Thermostat.
Carbing Cooling Plate.
Jun Actuator.
Apexi High Flow Cat.
ARC Radiator.
Kakimoto Cat Back Exhaust.
Advan RSII Wheels.
And a bunch of other stuff.
Still to come is the ARC Inter cooler shortly.

What a powerhouse the Evo is. I must admit I have been a one eyed supporter of the Nissan GTR for many many years, but I am now completely converted to the Mitsubishi Evo. Couldn't be happier with the power and handling of the Evo. Currently getting 238kW on 22 boost, which is plenty and nice and safe too. I've noticed with the Evo is not about raw kW power, but the torque. WOW the torque is incredible through the entire gear range. Very impressed, and honestly surprised.
Can post pics if anyone is interested in seeing it, but figured this to be an introductory post, I'd see if anyone even cares :P

A new convert to the dark side

Cheers all.

Pics are on the way. I might even make a new thread as I have the build process piece by piece which could make for some interesting reading maybe? I'll try and get it done by the weekend.

On a side note. This forum rocks, so much good information here. I must admit seeing so many Evo pictures with the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car is doing my head in a little :P I never really pictured Americans would get into the Jap cars scene. Correct me if I'm wrong but do you guys get Evo's and other imports over and have to convert them or what? I think the later model Evo's are U.S delivered, but what about GTRs and such?

Around the corner from my work is an American importers who bring over Mustangs, Hummers, and other exotic American models. BIG cars I must say, you guy must have the hugest roads and parking spaces. Its great to see so much love for Jap cars. And here I was thinking its our little secret and those dumbass Americans can stick to their oversized petrol guzzling muscle cars :P

Still trying to learn a lot of the different terminology you guys use too. Especially your Dyno readout sheets. You guys talk in horse power, not killer wasps, oops I might kWs :P

Anyways great place and I will try and get some pics and build process info up soon.

Cheers.
