What Color is BEST for the Lancer Evolution VIII ???
Personally, I like the blue, black, and silver. If I got an Evo, I'd get the blue, because black cars are too hard to keep clean, and silver just isn't colourful enough. Red cars have higher insurance rates, and yellow is too common. I'm all about the blue. But a mica purple would be cool, as would a pearlescent colour. I'd be all over that.
Red like the girls panties in the rear view...
...just teasin. It would have to be either Red or Blue...though, if I had a black one I would have gotten black rims with a chrome lip and made life alot easier...especially since I don't see me getting white rims...
And I don't think chrome would look right on the Evo...if anyone has a pic, I'd love to see it...

Interesting that our poll was in line with PPG's research on worldwide color trends.
"Research conducted by PPG reveals that for the 2003 model year, white and red were featured on 16 and 14 percent, respectively, of vehicles produced in North America, matching their popularity in the 2002 model year. Black increased in popularity to 13 percent from 10 percent, followed by the natural color family and blue, each with 11 percent, and green with 7 percent. Other niche and specialty colors held constant at 4 percent.
Global color trend data collected by PPG found white, at 19 percent, was the second most popular color worldwide in 2003. On a global level, black and blue finished at 13 and 11 percent, respectively. Red was featured on 10 percent of vehicles produced around the world, while green and naturals each appeared on 7 percent of the vehicles. Niche and specialty colors were at 4 percent".
Though tthis information on paints, pigments, durability, etc, might be useful...some is well know standard fare...other goes into the technical aspects of pigments, paint etc

Two quick things...If you are paying more because you have a red car, your getting banged over the head, I'm an insurance broker in NY & CT, Red DOES NOT effect your rate, If someone told you that -they were wrong! Your are paying too much -PM me! The other thing is everyone is saying there is no clear coat on the red...Is that right? how can they not put any sort of clear coat over the paint? That just don't sound right...If there isn't I can tell you right now I'm going to have my car clearcoated this week!
