Mitsu not very high as we all know
Makes me wonder sometimes why all of us here on this forum are such gluttons for punishment. I guess getting into boost makes one forget thin paint, incessant rattles, cheap materials and poor dealer service.

There are other brands out there with just as bad or worst issues.....its better to have a couple of minor issues than a whole lot of major ones!! I had read that yahoo thing yesterday and I said to myself I've had no major problems with any Mitsubishi I've owned but I've always heard of the VWs, Audis and BMWs with crazy problems and on that particular blog someone had mentioned Jaguars.....and these are some top-notch brands - Even Land Rover has got problems....so just to some it up all cars got their issues, we have cheap paint and so forth....its Mitsubishi what do folks expect:-)....
Everyone does need to remember that Evos are still just econoboxes turned into racecars for the street. Sure you can get some low-end German luxury car for the same price, but you'll miss the performance and beg for your dash rattles back if only you can feel the power and handling again
I think the MR Touring and GSR SS+SL do a decent job bridging that gap for the guys who want the best of both worlds. I've done what I can to my car to make it a bit nicer too; some adhesive Presto felt goes a long way in quieting down the annoying interior rattles. You can get it from pretty much any arts & crafts store (ask your girlfriend or wife, they'll probably know).

Does anyone take JD Power seriously? It's basically self reported problems and for one person a rattle might be a problem, for others a rod through the hood might be a problem - it's all relative to the owner and what they report. Ford got dinged just because people couldn't figure out the electronics, give me a break.
I have an MR Touring and have actually been somewhat impressed with the lack of rattles and other noises so far. I was expecting it to be horrible, but it has been very quiet so far. Maybe things will loosen up a bit after awhile.
I have owned many other cars, from Fords to BMWs and they all have their problems. My 2005 BMW M3 didn't have any major issues, but there were many rattles and the a/c smelled like cat pee in really hot weather when you first turned it on. Kind of annoying for a $60K car. BMW service just said that it was typical for the car, which, after much research, I determined it was pretty universal in hot/humid climates.
I am actually surprised that Jaguar and MB are so far up the list. I guess the TaTa buy out of Jag must have resulted in some changes. In the old days, you had to buy two Jags just to make sure you always had one that ran. My experiences with MB have not been very good. Way too many electronic gremlins. Same goes for Land Rover.
In regards to the service department, I had many issues with my level of service (or lack there of) at Ford, BMW, and MB dealerships. Haven't had any yet with my Mitsubishi dealer, but maybe that will change over time.
As was said earlier in this thread, it is important to remember that the Evo really is just a tarted up econo box with a base price of about $15k. It goes like hell and is a blast to drive, but don't expect a solid thud when you shut the door.

Who cares? I love my car , and the best car actually out from a dealer for rally (hence the reason why actually mitsubishi made the evolution). There is nothing besides the subaru sti even come close. So it is a purposly made car for rally, and not to please the avarege joe or jd power and they followers.
End of story.

I bought all 3 of my Evos knowing that the warranty was dead the minute I drove it off the lot...so the dealer experience isn't a big deal for me. As far as the quality of the car from an interior perspective, yeah it's cheapo...but by no means horrible. I traded my 01 Audi S4 for my first Evo in 2004. Honestly I paid no attention to the fit and finish of the interior because I was having too much darn fun driving the thing.
My friends and I always ponder about what cars we'd like to buy next...if we couldn't keep the Evo. There isn't a single car out there that excites me like the Evo...and provides the best bang for the buck. Sure the interior isn't the best in the world...but I didn't buy the car for it's comfort or style.

Personally I feel that every car has a flaw to be honest with you. What I do not like is how the companies eventhough they are trying to cut back on the cut of the costs it still should not cut into the persons pocket as far as parts.
Maybe on the labor to a certain degree becuase service is not free but atleast make sure its done right and that there is a warrantee on it after a real serious thorough investigation and not just lies thats where the con games brought into play along with some lame below the belt excuses to deny, deny, deny which is totally irrelevant towards real service. Atleast the car lives up the hype though I would look away from that. I think that the price for parts is an issue too but hey you gotta pay to play.
