Mazdaspeed to Evo

Hey all, just got my '12 PB evo this weekend, and traded in the speed3 for it. Not new to forums by any means so i won't waste time. Evo has a magnaflow catback and HKS bov installed by dealer, but I read the bov being full vta isn't good for the car so will probably be selling shortly.

Overall first impressions; evo isnt as fast in a straight line, but crushes the speed in handling. Speed had full tbe/intake/fp/tune/coils/sways though so i'm sure with the same money it will be faster. I didn't see any donate option, is there anything like this here?

pics to come soon

You're doing it wrong.

The Mazda Speed3 may feel quicker compared to the heavier Evo X, but stock for stock the Evo X is faster from 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile. In fact the Speed3 trails behind the Ralliart in both 0-60 and 1/4 mile.

I also want to trade in my Mazdaspeed3 for an Evo. I just want it to be low miles and with the Twin Clutch SST so my wife will feel better driving it. It may be toward the end of the year tho. Is there a confirmation whether there is going to be a normal 2013 evo MR?

Welcome! My other car is a Mazdaspeed Protege. Not nearly the kind of power you were making but fun nonetheless.

2013's will carry on as they are for 2012 and that will be the final year of production for the Evo X. Check out Autotrader for low mileage used Evo X's.

Thinking about switching from Z to Evo X. Sounds like a lot of people are jumping to the evo

Evo's are one of the top super cars from Japan. It's got a lot of potential. Fun to drive and race right out of the box, I know I enjoy mine

If you drift stay with the Z. If you autoX or time attack or anything else then get an Evo. I had a 240sx before I got my Evo, and I'm not looking back.
