New 2012 MG ES on the boards...Hi.

What's up everybody. My first post was an intro in my regional forum but I figured I would say hello to the world as well.

I recently traded in my Chrysler 300c AWD hemi on a 2012 mercury gray Lancer ES (My evo buddy is already hating on me...as to be expected). But my main goal was to get into something that's better on gas, as low of a payment as possible, and I wanted a Lancer if the dealer would work with me (evo was out of the question, obviously)...and going from 17mpg highway to 34mpg highway is pretty damn nice. Plus I'm back into the import scene now and loving it so far. I've easily been through 20 vehicles in my past, starting at the age of 14 and I'm 27 now.

I can't wait to start modding this thing and have already started the small stuff.

Anyway, just thought I would say hello.

Previous G-Ride

New hotness - minus the hubs...ew.

Welcome. That would have been a hard trade-in for me to do. But you make a good point about the gas mileage.

Welcome from a fellow new member. Any ideas on what mods you were planning on throwing on your new car?

The 300 was my baby, it was tough but I'm happy overall.

Thanks. Well, the obligatory stuff I always do is things like debadge (just finished my Mitsu trunk emblem a second ago), LED lighting all around (get rid of that yellow stuff), and window tint. I had 5% on the 300, I'll probably go 20% on this.

Then from searching some mods on the forum I want to plastidip my front bumper/grill but I'll be leaving the Mitsu emblem intact. Might buy the stuff to do that tonight. I also have a "Password style" front plate relocation kit on the way, I wasn't a huge fan of the Evo style relocation, and an amp kit so I can swap my system over. The 300 was easy, battery in the trunk

I'm also toying with the idea of a custom tri-chip led DRL to sit flush in my vents where my fogs would go if I had fogs. Pretty sure I'm doing this, I have the parts in my garage.

Then down the road I would LOVE to save up enough cash for a drop and wheels. Hubcaps make me puke...but for the dealer to add wheels they wanted to add 2k to the price.

I have one other thing in mind that I saw while browsing a few parts sites but I'm scared to mention it...may get flamed. I need to search and see what the general consensus is on it before I entertain that idea. It's cheap, and removable, and borderline rice.

All in all though, I'm loving having an import again.

BTW, a quick photo of the debadge. Don't mind the clutter in the garage, in the process of cleaning the basement which in turn, clutters the garage, so then I'll need to clean that too. It's a vicious cycle.

Welcome and congrats on your new purchase. 20% will look good. That's what I have all around on my Evo X. Plasti-dip front is a good idea and very easy. Other mods you said seem cool...I'll keep a lookout for more pics.

Do you have any idea's as far as lowering/rims? You can pick up a decent used set of the Evo X GSR rims for around 700-800

Thanks man, for lowering I was thinking Tein S springs. I'm not rich enough for a full coilover setup lol. Wheels, I have no idea but thanks for the info, those may be an option.

Ehh Tein aren't the best. I had them on my old GTS. I'd look into Swift or GTWorx

Thanks for the tip, I assume Swift or GTWorx ride better? I was thinking the drop on the Tein's looked pretty good.

I'd instantly have to get a defuser back and a much more "ricey" exhaust.

Yeah lol, pissed me off that I could never have real fun with all that power. Wet pavement and ice was fun though...perfect circles.
