Maybe looking for Evo X

FNG here. I bought an Optima SX 2.0T in January thinking that I could get it to the 400hp range to drive as a daily driver. 8 months later, there is absolutely NO aftermarket support so I'm stuck with a good looking car with great mpg, but relatively slow. http://www.optimaforums.com/forum/49...2012-rotm.html

So a guy on the forum told me to check out the EVO X. On first glance, I don't like the outside apperance as much as my SX but I'm considering it as an option.

I wanted to just plunge and get an M3 but that would end up being a money pit for mods.

I'll be trolling around and checking out your mods and rides but I'm curious what it will take to get the EVO X to the 400-450hp range.

Cheers!

Im sure someone with an actual X will jump on and let you know but with a 8/9

Full bolt ons, better injectors, a boost controller.

You can safely achieve upper 300 hp range, with basic bolt ons, exhaust, intake, 3 port boost solenoid, and a tune. I have a guy local who is at 400 with stock fuel system, turbo, just basic bolt ons and a aggressive tune

Not bad. I haven't started to shop parts yet. Just looking at everyone's ride to make sure the style is something I could live with. How's the pricing for parts on the X?

I'm guessing:

Basic Bolt ons (intake, piping, fmic) = $1kish
Full Exhaust = $1kish
Tune = $800ish

Am I close with my assumptions?

You're pretty right on the pricing. Evo stuff is pretty damn expensive. Like a header alone cost around $800. Injen CAI around $450. Just giving an examples.
