Hey everyone I just bought an 06 gsr converted to an MR (6spd included). The guy I bought it from is claiming 365whp which I'm very happy with.

The only thing I'd like to do is change the exhuast manifold. It currently has a buschur but I feel part of the evo experience is the sick tubular manifold that gives a look like no other engine bay.

I know people claim you will lose spool on the stock turbo if you go with a 1.5 manifold but I'm wondering if thats still the case with a ported stock turbo, various other mods and a tune?

I've decided on the ETS stock replacement manifold, the questions is 1.25 or 1.5?

Keep in my mind I do plan on upgrading the internals and turbo and aiming for 500+whp within the next year or two.. so I don't mind losing afew hp until then.

Mod list

Buschur intake&exhaust manifold, intercooler, throttlebody and downpipe.

Ported stock turbo

Intake, full exhaust, and tune.

Not needed. You'll lose low end with either it won't be AS bad with the smaller runners. Many people run ported stock manifolds over 500+

 

I don't mind losing a little low end... The look of the header on this car is one of the many reasons I got it.. Its a personal joy to have such a sick look in my engine bay.. I'd lose 20hp, the cars already more than fast enough for me. I just got out of an 06 350Z.. Rediculous repair/maintanence/performance part costs and it was all show no go.
