Well, looking to pick up an Evo 9 tomorrow...

Found a car locally... kind of posting to see if anyone recognizes it from the forum and if people could give me things to look for, with its higher mileage and all.. and what they SHOULD be asking for it.

http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...30001684&Log=0

I did a KBB and it pulled up 17,1xx with the 105k miles and in excellent condition.. I do have a friend going with me who has an Evo 8 and knows whats he is doing so he will be able to tell if anything is incorrect/acting up. Just wondering what people think and kind of an introduction thread since I will eventually be in an 8 or 9 whether its this one or not. If anyone thinks I should stray away from the higher mileage let me know, im coming from LS1's and modular motors and miles kill on v8's but Ive never owned anything less than v6 or non-American to that extent.

Thanks for all advice/views.

I would pass base on a few things...
- high mileage
- high price
- its at a dealer, which means you won't know the history of the car (previous problems)
- the vin is a 9 (I hit the carfax button), but the whole interior including steering wheel and tail lights are from an 8 (probably swapped out)

Unless you can get her for 13-14k,I would walk away. Plenty of nice evo's on here if you are looking for one. Gl.

Keep your money and keep searching. I bought my 9 for around the same price, with only 40,000 miles

Looks like the previous owner had very poor taste. This does not bode well.

Keep the faith. They are out there, but they are rare. You need to be exceedingly patient

Things that worry me would be that there are no trunk or under hood pics. Obviously the car has had a lot of parts on and off it and who knows whats going on in the trunk or under the hood. Put on a side note, it is a nice looking car on the outside.

I wondered about the interior but theres so many damn models I just figured it was just a base model so it had interior from previous years. as for the 20k I would never pay that.. I will bring up all those points to them and see what they can do. thanks for the all input guys.

I agree EVO VIII, seats, steering wheel, tail lights, plus I am pretty sure the RS has black mirrors, no wing, and no radio.. plus the front lip looks like some cheap plastic crap. Very good chance this thing doesnt have a clear title. I dont think I would pay over 10K for that, wouldnt trust it at all.

The RS also has black door handles. That definitely isn't an RS and it's questionable that it's even a 9. Stay away.

Avoid that one.

Take your time and the right one will come along.

way over priced. a dealership i see it is at. id say 15k is fair for that due to the mileage.
