Need Help With Lights!

So, I live in Canada land and in the province that I am in, it is a regulation to have DRL's and Night running marker lights. I am currently trying to figure out how to wire my signal lights so they can act as a signal light and side marker. I have heard that it is possible to be done and that it is rather easy.

In the Evo 4, there is the little low beam light that comes on when you turn the knob on the light switch to activate interior lights. The light has 2 wires going into it which is a Negative (Black) and Positive (Green w/ Black stripe). I tried splicing my signal lights positive wire into the low beams positive wire and it made my signal light stay on when I turn the low beams on (Which is what I need).. however it does not turn off or blink when I use the signal light.

Do I need to ground the signal light as well? Or is there another way?

I also tried the headlight with the DRL module and still the same issue..

Any help with this A.S.A.P would be much appriciated!

No one knows anything on this? Basically what I am needing to do is converting the front signal lights to front parking light/blinkers.
