There are alot of threads to search But I have a Quick Q

Im getting ready to buy an evo that has around 111k on it. New clutch, water pump and timing belt. at around 95k. Fluids kept up and stock psi and ecu. How many more miles will an average evo 8 go before something blows up. Given normal daily driver type activity. I understand what determines engine life is a large spectrum of options but if anyone could give me a round about figure of the average daily driver Life expectancy id be very greatfull

At around 115k is when they blow up! But seriously, at stock psi and regular maintenance I dont see why it would blow up, unless you over rev the shiat out of it and boost it to heaven then it'll blow. Theres a guy here running with more than 250k miles and running strong.

I've got 132k on mine right now. Stock and factory everything except intake (Perrin), exhuast (TBE of some sort), MBC (grimmspeed) and BOV (GFB Stealth FX). My car runs like a champ and has been since I bought it at 96k. I've had ZERO issues except for going through clutches, lol. Daily driven and I've only had it for 1.5 years.

^ Yeah read that.

If its well taken care of... It'll last a long time. But 111k miles is a lot of driving that you dont really know how they used it. Take into consideration the condition of the car. If it looks well kept, then most likely the previous owners took care of it. If its got some work that needs to be done then maybe keep looking for one. Just my 2 cents.

Honestly if I were to start over or buy another Evo, I'd take a good long test drive listening carefully. Get it fully hot and run through all the gears, inspect the turbo and Evoscan it. Some sellers will go along with it, others will get nervous. It's pretty easy to filter out the rough ones. Miles really don't mean much on our cars.

Just remember to take your time when looking. It can be exciting buying a new car or possibly thinking about buying a car. Don't jump on the first one you see because it seems like a good deal or because you absolutely want an evo. You'll be glad you did when you don't drive away in a POS with problems that will give you nothing but headaches. Good luck with your search
