That's the link to the ad, haven't gotten in touch with the owner yet so I don't have too much info. Just seeing if I'm it's in the right ball park.

This one is free no charge

The car has a clean carfax and owner says regular maintenance has been done. The interior is in good shape and I plan on checking the compression, timing belt, oil etc. The body kit isn't my taste, but he has the OEM the pieces that I'll put back on it if I get it.
It seems like a good deal to me, and it's listed right around kbb trade in value. Considering everything checks out, what would you guys think it's worth?
If it all checks out seems like a good buy.
I would really harp on knowing who tuned it/if it was tuned/ how it was tuned- then more details. Also, compare that engine bay pic in the ad to the current set up. Did he part out stuff you dont know about?
How is the fitment of the body kit? Is it super clean? And who did the work?- Its not my flavor either but it shows you the type of owner and what he is willing to accept.
Another simple test to me is gauges- I see he has them in there, so what brand are they? It will tell you a lot about the owner- If they are faze or some crap you buy from pep boys- no deal. I know its kind of silly but I figure if he buys pep-boys gauges, he probably does all routine maintenance with whatever is on sale at the time. Sure thats probably fine for him, but it wouldn't be for me.....
You want a car to last forever, be super **** about maintenance, not just how often but with what products too. If you get any doubt along the process in my mind there would be no doubt its not for me. There are plenty of evo's out there.

That's a great thread, one of the first ones I read when I came to the site. It's actually the one I mentioned reading in my first post. Helped me realize I'm specifically looking for a '06 MR, but it doesn't really answer my question about current market price of these things

A pilar gauges are tacky as **** and always scream out to me DIY tuner. Which imho is never something I want. Knowing where the car was tuned is always a plus. If it was tuned somewhere theres a dyno chart also. No one puts all that work into a car and doesnt know the whp its putting out.

Fitment from the pic doesnt seem that good...but he said the stock aero is a part of the sale so thats not an issue..but knowing who did the work under the hood and how well it was maintained is a whole nother story..find out more info on the car before making the jump...bad taste doesnt mean the car wasnt maintained guys.
I scoped out the car before this storm hit and it's definitely a no go. Didn't see anything in the Carfax, but I swear it looks like it's been hit in the front or it's just an very horrible body kit with serious fitment/install issue.
Talked to a few friends around town and a couple recognize the car and owner. They pretty much echoed what you all said. Rode hard, put up wet, and riced out.
I was hoping it was mechanically looked after so it would be worth saving. After seeing it in person though, I'm afraid it's a lost cause.
