Just bought a 2006 Evo IX today after I sold my 2008 BMW M3 lastnight.
So far I love the car, always wanted a Evo this is my first japanese car Ive owned.
Some other rides Ive owned in the past are a 2004 Kenne Bell Cobra a 1991 Built Mustang LX Notch with a 67mm turbo and a 1998 Trans Am WS6 with Nitrous.
Look forward to learning more about this platform and upgrading the car.
So far from what I can tell it has Greddy Exhaust, turbo timer, and what looks to be a Greddy intercooler piping to the intake manifold.

First mod plans are JDM rear bumper, tint, lower it on coilovers,rims and remove the wing and AMS Intercooler and a few other boltons.

Cant wait to learn about the car and start modding.

Clean looking Evo.

 

How was it going from the m3 to the Evo? I'm about to go from a modded 335i to a built Evo 8.

 

Not sure yet to be honest, Just got it yesterday but its fun. I know Im going to miss some of the creature comfort things like the outside temp, and the direction indicator in the mirror but performance wise the Evo gets up and goes pretty good. Just hoping it gets better then 10mpg city and 17 highway that my M3 was seeing

 

i'm planning to do the opposite, i want to switch to an e92 m3 sedan.

How do you like it compared to the Cobra? I'm torn between an Evo 8 or a Cobra for my next car.

 

Cobra was a awesome car, loved the IRS and they pick up power pretty well. I had a Kenne Bell 2.2, long tubes, all support mods and dynoed 668rwhp.

I'm loving the Evo it's my first I4, turbo car.. Lol it's my first Japanese car. Can't go wrong either way but I'd have to say Im loving the AWD. My Cobra on 315 Mickey Thompson Drag Radials had a hard time hooking on the street.

 

M3 was super clean. Speaking of clean, interior looks mint on the Evo. Nice pick up!
