i think the 8 looks better than the 7 but thats your own opinion.
7 has AYC but 8 has S-AYC (super active yaw control) , more updated technology
8 is newer
8 has 6 speed gearbox (better for daily), although i have heard the 5 speed is stronger ?
in melb 7s are more common than 8s

I dont get these threads!! Buy whatever you like and whatever fits you, other people cant choose for you. Test drive both and make a decision.

I don't get buying anything but the last in a series.
Evo 1 2 3, 3 is the best before a new base platform
Evo 4 5 6, 6 is the best before a new base platform
Evo 7 8 9, 9 is the best stock performance evo made
Evo X is the oddity. Its barely an evo but, it's still fantastic car and much more livable than any pervious

Dude you are so wrong. People look for 1-6 or 7 being they don't find them around here. The 8 and 9 are way more accepted being they aren't heavy ugly looking cars that take a ton of cash to make fast, oh and you don't have to sleeve the blocks to make over x hp. I mean you couldn't pay me to drive an x for the fact I don't like them, I have never liked them, and flat out there ugly as sin. And the fact being I like to modify my cars I refuse to pay way to much to make a 600 whp x beat a 450 whp 8 or 9.

I can understand the want for rarity but over all performance of the car I do not get trying to seek out a older one. Especially they're not easy to find in your area. Why oh why would anyone want a 7? It still modernish and its the start of that platform. The 8 and 9 are better cars. 9 if you want mivec 8 if you dont.

That is easy because its JDM tyyyytttteeee yo. Not everyone cares about something straight out of Japan being now they are available now in the states. Now if the evo didn't exist here in the states then yeah I can see more people wanting a 7. It is the same thing with the skylines. Do not get me wrong I'd love to have an r33 or r34, but will that change my mind being I can only really get then in Japan and the r35 is available here in the states? Absolutely not. It is the fact that I will not buy a car they know people are interested in and try to overs price them at any dealership around. Hell I seen a r34 for sale that was exactly what I wanted with 144k miles and the dude wanted 40 plus k for it because it was imported from Japan. That is a simple enough answer for people to understand. Then I am sure why didn't I want an 9 rather then a 8? Thats easy enough to. I didn't want the headache of mivec when I wanted to change cams. Specially when I got my evo the 9 was just commin out.

Mivec is a variable valve timing system thats used to create more low end power while also saving gas. I dont know how is supposidly saves gas since every evo ever gets 17mpg but, thats what mitsubishi claims.

When you have to change the cams they have to put the mivec cam gear in and it goes a certain way, and you have to make sure this and that. Screw all that put cams in make sure everything is good and go. Thats the difference.

I will do test drive for comfortable and interior.

Here you go dude knock yourself out. There is very little difference between the 7 and 8 and the 8 and 9. As far as interrior there all the same. Only real difference is cosmetic and maybe drivetrain or little bits and pieces here and there. I think you have other issues to worry about rather then thinking about if you want to change cams or not.
