Question Where to Start?!?

I just got a brand-new '03 Lancer O-Z and am new to upgrading performance in cars. I have about $2400 to spend right now and another $3000 come Sept, but I have no idea where to start! I don't care about show; all about GO! Any suggestions out there?

*edit*

PS - I only found the newbie area AFTER this post, so I'll post a preemptive "MY BAD".

Ya - i would say check out RRM or find a place that will get you a phat turbo.

i know if you check out www.rippmods.com they have a supercharger for our car that right now can run on stock internals at 11psi (( 9 and 10 100% safely )) and you will see around 222whp at 9psi and prob like 250 on 11.

i believe they have custom paying options, so you could perhaps pay 2500$ now and then the rest of the 1000$ in a couple months. im sure they would be willing to work something out with you.

CHeck them out as well as asking around with shops in your area about a turbo and such. and roadrace is an awesome place as well.

Also you might as well read the upgrade path that Road Race did for us:

Also moving this to the Newbie Forum.

Well that's how I come to the reason I posted the question on a board in the first place. I've heard from some of my more knowledgable friends, as well as the local speedshop in my area, that It's all well and good to want to upgrade other parts before the turbo, but they also said I will probably end up just replacing the parts again when the turbo kit is in which is not mentioned in the upgrade path by RRM. I would hate to get all those parts just to change them out later; I'd rather be patient....

why dont you save the 2.4k and wait till you get the 3k and spend it altogether. with 5,400 you could upgrade your pistons and turbo charge your car.
