I think it will. It seems the proposed evo will be turbo diesel electric steam power. So the x will be the last full petrol engine.

not like the 9 i guess. i would think it would even depreciate than any other evo since it was the generation with the longest production (7 years now, normally they change every 5 years except for the 9 which was produced for only a year.)

It will hold a fair value. But as everyone has said, you won't see values like the IX Stock low mileage MR IX, hahahaha they could ask whatever they want and they could probably get it.

The Value of the car after 2 years and 24k miles is 79 Percent and that's through Mitsubishi. I work at a dealership and I can tell you we sell used evo's on a weekly basis. No matter how beat how many miles the car is still always worth over 22k Retail. We cant even get evo's "dirt Cheep" like everyone this cars are at auction. They Hold their Value.

I think any way you cut it there will be still be a following on these vehicles in the future. Now depending on economy or what the "next best thing is" will determine value. I still think they hold around 20K 5 years from now.

Just sold my IX to a car lot for 18000. It is now back on Craigslist for $24999. Doubt they'll get that much.

keep in mind also there are now 6 years of evo x's with no major changes, save for maybe the MY10+ - in other words, there are a good number of x's out there. prices may start higher because the actual msrp/purchase price was higher, but it may not hold that well

I would have to say that the evo x's will not have a good of a value as the evo 9's did only because they made the X's so many years. Regardless I am sure they will be a sought after car down the road, but probably not like a Supra or anything in those lines.

I'm thinking of picking one up and moving back to Canada. One of the reason I'm considering the evo X is because my other choice is an A4 quattro, and that sure as hell won't hold its value.

look at the muscle car era...You cant find a 2 door 72 Chevelle in decent condition for under 20K. I think the evo will hold its value really well.

I do agree to this statement, but those muscle cars were kind of the highlight of the American car era. This was a time when things were good. I don't necessarily know if the evo's will hold up the same way the muscle cars did, with how the rate of technology increases. I mean we aren't really in a defining era right now, I think its hard to compare the muscle cars to what we have now.

Don't get me wrong, I would love for my Evo to be worth a lot of money one day, or at least hold its value, but I think eventually it will turn into the statues of the old dsm eclipses, talons. They will eventually fade off is what I'm afraid of. I guess it all depends on how most of us, treat these cars. I think if people like us, move onto other vehicles then this car will be left behind, it is nice that the Evo has a good following. This will determine whether or not its remember as an iconic car or not down the road.
