Is there a double standard?

I noticed some people like to change their Evo 8/9 exterior to replicate an Evo 7, yet it's frowned upon for an S14 240sx to have a frontend of an S13. Why is that? Isn't their an unwritten rule that you should never change the exterior to a previous generation?

Hmmmm I don't know. I have never heard that in any of the crews I have rolled in. But then again if one of my crew desired an earlier model evo they would just go and get one vs. dress up their VIII or IX to look like a VII.

guessing because we weren't allowed the VII, the rare or wow factor of the parts from it? Why do Honda kids spend obscene amounts of money for JDM parts? Bcuz different baller status

I will say that swapping an s14 to and s13 front end makes no sense.
The body of an s13, from what I have heard, is much more solid and better for track use/drifting.
I am mainly a DSMer and there are a few guys that switch from 1ga to 1gb front and back.

I guess car culture is dictated by: what we can't have, is what we want.

Absolutely. Same rule applies to why people in the UK/Europe with Evos ditch the "jdm" headlights and taillights and run the USDM instead.

I've never seen anyone do that.

Only thing i've seen in the mitsubishi world thats common is on dsm.

Every single person in the world with a 2g eclipse wants the 2gb look with the high raise spoiler.

Hell my 96 gst is a conversion to the 2gb.
