should I buy this Evolution for $11.5k with 85k miles?????
Haven't had one in 8 years. F that POS
Says the guy with the 600 paper weight and an off the shelf tune
Uggghhhhh you can't be serious, most all remote tuners on this site are in that price range
OP: Finally an EVO that is priced right for it's age. Looks like a great deal. I would not hesitate to check that car out.
Make sure if you are not familiar with these cars bring someone with you that is.
Whenever you see cars with ghetto spray paints on wheels,
that's already telling you so much about the car Ghetto Ricer mod = poor maintain evo with mismatched parts inside. And even if it has a tune then its one of those ****ty 100 200 tune from GHETTO wannabe tuners.

For the guys who got offended by me saying using 200 dollar tunes are ****ty ghetto tunes, I never said all 200 dollar tunes were ****ty I said its most likely from one of those ghetto tuner (EX DYNOFLASH) based on year and the condition of the car.
OP, we're practically neighbors. I'm about 10 miles from Loveland.
If you get it I can help go over it to see what's going on with it.
Also, there is a similar Evo VIII locally for about the same price with some more miles on it. I'd check that out first before driving that far.

It's looks clean to me deal isn't bad either can bring to dealer for inspection but you may pay $200-300 if your afraid if all check out buy it! But look for oil leaks and transmission grind, engine noises etc. good luck it looks nice!

OK, so after some late night flight searches and some negotiations with the seller, I have decided to let this one go...
BUT... I have found one that is closer! Here is the link to some of the pictures. It is also a lost FS thread in the market place but take a look

Here is what his ad says:
"I'm selling a 2003 Lancer Evolution with 70xxx miles on the chassis.
It has a built engine
Wiseco pistons
Manley Turbo Tuff I Beams
ACL rod and main bearings
Kiggly Dual valve springs
Manley valves
Buschur Racing MBC
Buschur Racing turbo back exhaust with test pipe
Buschur Racing Double Pumper fuel system
Bushwacker Stage 1 transmission
Exedy heavy duty twin disk clutch
AEM wideband o2 sensor
Prosport Evo Series boost, oil temperature and oil pressure sensors
Stock turbo, cams and cam gears.
I have the stock wing but it is in blue and will be painted if the car doesn't sell by then.
The Engine was assembled less than 2000 miles ago and runs great, compression is 145-150 on all four cylinders."
It does have codes for the o2 sensors, missing the spoiler, and the clutch makes a noise since it is a Exeddy twin disk clutch. He says this is normal, so is that true?
So all this in mind, im 99% sure that I can get the car for $11,750 cash. Does this seem like a good deal and what should I check for when looking at this car
Also, is there anyone in ALBQ, NM who will take a look at the car for me?

He PM'd me. I'll try to help him locate one locally. Whatever he gets I'll check it over.
BTW, OP, I'm running out the door now (can't post link), but I did see a few more on CL locally in the $15K range.

I drove the car with 140k, $11k, and it was a POS, and the other cars for 15k have alot of miles on them. I rather buy a car with 70k miles than a car with 115k, especially when I want to upgrade cuz Ill get alot more money for my car.
