Evo 6.5 newbie from OZ
Evo 6.5 newbie from OZ
Hey guys,
I'm the proud new owner of a evo 6.5 TME version...
love it to death...ive always wanted one being a huge fan of rally motorsport and AWD turbos..
Its got a ****load of modifications and I've also never seen a TME in black
- ATP Gold Ball Bearing Turbo
- Match Ported Exhaust Manifold
- 1020cc Injectors
- Aeromotive 270L in tank fuel pump
- Tein RS Coilovers with remote reservoirs and adjustable tops
- Cusco Front & Rear Sway Bars
- Strut braces front and rear
- Extensive Cusco Under Chassis Bracing
- Bronze 18inch TE 37's with Khumo Ku36 tyres
- Racepace Motorsports - Full custom made stainless steel exhaust from the turbo back.
· - Cusco Diffs - front, centre and rear.
- Evo 7 clutch and flywheel - Excedy Organic Full Face
I know a fair bit about my other car (ford TX3 turbo) but im not sure about these evos yet... would appretiate a little help with the first issue i have encountered..
just recently fitted an evo 7 clutch as per above, and i seem to get a very strong clutch burning smell (almost slippage) when i feather it lightly when i have the wheels turned sharply, (in reverse or going forward or going up an incline.. ive take it to multiple specialists, one thought there was something wrong with the clutch, while the clutch supplier specialist "excedy" told me that its because i have these cusco diffs and its putting too much pressure on the clutch.
Has anyone experienced this? thoughts ideas?
thanks
Beau

Well then, let me be the first: Welcome! I'm a newbie to the site but I have some (not much) knowledge of the Evo so don't let that fool you lol
Looks pretty good mate. Although you might want to post more pictures up so that we can see more angles of your beauty! As far as the paint, that is first for me too. Definitely painted afterwards or maybe the previous owner swapped out certain things to make it seem like a TME since I know people do interior swaps

Hey guys, thanks for the reply!
I'm from Melbourne... which is in Victoria,
where exactly is this forum based, is it international, or predominantly American?
ExtrEvo:
In response, its definately a TME... its got the full TME interior, the little plaque that says no. 133 on the cluster, its got the front bar, and its got a plate in the engine bay... not sure how else to check?
I think it must of had a respray halfway through its life, because the paint in immaculate.. not sure if they ever came in black... its an import though, from Japan, so quite possibly could of come like this from Japan..
cheers guys, show me your cars if you have a moment!
