Hey, guys! I'm new around here, so I thought I might introduce myself. I'm a college student here in Georgia, and I'm finally starting to look at some cars. I live on campus, so there's not much need for a DD; therefore, I'm more focused on fun. I first started liking cars back when I started watching Initial D in 2010, and it's only grown on me since.

So here's my situation: When I first started driving, I used my mother's Buick Lacrosse, and I'd appreciate something a little more aggressive. Actually, I'd like something that's a lot more aggressive. I think I've fallen in love with the Evolution ( for life), and my parents want me to start with a used car (I personally love the body style of the Evo V, but that's just me). I'm definitely going to be looking at aftermarket parts, because what's the fun in having a good car if you can't mod it to suit your driving style?

But seriously... Evolutions for life.

Edit: I also happen to love pens and televisions. I mean, seriously, who knew Mitsubishi made such amazing pens?

I'm still working on that bit. Apparently, it varies depending on my grades this year.

An Evo isn't cheap. The cheapest I have seen one go for is just a little above 10K used, which is seldom. I'd maybe go about getting an OZ Rally Lancer, you can find those for just under 2K if you're looking for something aesthetically similar. Stock, it's clearly not as aggressive as the Evo but if your budget is not high enough, it's a good alternative.

I'll agree owning an evo isn't cheap, though I would still recommend one.

Try to find a nice 8/9. I have an X but bought it only because of the aesthetics. Most of the 8/9 will outperform me/run me all day. I wish I could get into a 8/9, but I've already dropped a lot on parts and can't sell the X

Thanks for the solid advice, guys. I've perused the forums and several sites (including Craigslist) before coming to the decision that I do want an Evolution. My grades so far are pretty good, so chances are, the Evo will be in my budget (but no guarantees, though). Well, in the end, I guess it really depends on how generous my parents are feeling.

That's good to know, but the semester's only just begun. I'll have to wait for a while before I know.my budget.

Kind of, well, both. Me getting scholarships means I get to keep the difference for the car in addition to the money they say they'll let me use. The refuse to tell me how much, though, because they think it'll distract me. Haha.

Haha. I wouldn't know. I don't exactly have the best track record of having a social life.
