Hey everyone, I got my new 2014 Evo X GSR just yesterday and figured it would be a good thing to get back on the forums. Totally love this car and i'm looking forward to meeting some fellow enthusiasts who do the same. Just out of curiosity, how long should I go easy and break it in for?

 

Not sure on the break in for a new Evo or if there is even a "break in period." Should be under warranty so go nuts! Welcome and post some pictures!

 

Welcome! Me personally, I took it easy for 500 miles before "spiritly" driving :-)

 

The manual calls for 600 miles of break-in during which it states no revving over 5k. You're also breaking in the clutch, transmission, et cetera.

 

Welcome bud. The car is great and I miss it every day. I took it easy on mine for about 3k when I had it. Where in jersey you located?

 

You want to take it easy for those first 600 miles so your rings seat firmly and correctly. I wouldnt go "ape****" warranty or not

 

Thanks, I will take it easy until about 600 and probably still take it easy after that lol. I'm located in the Clark/Rahway area Get Rad. My bad that one picture is sideways lol once I figure out how to edit that I will and of course more pics to come.
