Greetings!

Greetings!

Been lurking for a bit. Found the main problem I had in the forums, and was able to fix it with $25 at the wrecking yard after the transmission shop took $2500 and three years and couldn't. Thank you very much for that help!

Have another issue which I'll be posting in the appropriate area...

The car had started shifting hard. Between 2-3 and 3-4; 1-2 was fine. It started gradually, but then got harder and harder. Shifting felt like driving through a wall.

Short Version: We took it to a transmission shop, who fixed it. But the problem came back, so we took it back, and it got fixed again. Several times over the course of three years. The final time, he kept it for a year, until he closed down his shop, preventing us from taking it back again. (Yes, I should have called the BAR on the problem long before. I didn't.)

On the forums here, I found a very similar problem. Only difference was that it came on overnight. His problem was input and/or output speed sensors in the transmission. I was able to pull used ones at the wrecking yard for $25, which fixed the problem. (If it should do it again, I'll spend the money on new sensors now that I know that is the issue.)
