Battery Relocating - What for?

OK, so I've seen it a couple times on the forums here that you need to relocate the battery for a couple things - what are they? What are the positives for relocating?

I've got an 03 ES Auto.

Thanks in advance

in addition to what pearlwhiteoz said, it also helps ya transfer some weight from the front of the car to the rear. batteries are usually 30-40lbs ... for autox and whatnot it probably would help.

yea people move it to the trunk for better weight distribution. as for lancers, relocating a battery means you are in a completely different class for SCCA autox so i dont think its worth it.
