New to the forum and to Evos (came over from Subaru)

New to forums and to Mitsubishi. Canadian import laws, as most know, restrict us to importing 15 year old cars. So, before this I had a 1995 Ver II STi, and I have just picked up an Evo VI. I haven't gotten the car yet but I am gathering parts and trying to learn as much as I can.

The car was purchased from Japan through auctions (4c grade) and will be arriving to Canada towards the end of the month. It already has some goodies, which include: cat-back exhaust (unsure of brand at this point), a/m 17" rims (which I think at this point are Advan RS replicas), Tein coilovers, boost and volt gauges, front and rear strut braces, aluminum rad shroud, silicon rad hoses, blitz intake, and has had the timing belt changed.

So here are a couple of the auction pics:

Plans as of now are pretty typical stuff. Evo 8 wastegate actuator (still have to find one), my friend gave me an Evo X DV, dump pipe+front pipe (thinking of MAPerformance), hot-side intercooler piping, fuel pump and tune. Plus suspension bits here and there, and shifter linkages.

The cars remind me of a bull terrior, they look mean on the road, I can't believe you can still get them in this condition

ps. whats the story with all the grass, is that because the snow kills it all ? would make a good rally track :0)

Thanks! 107,000km when I got it.. so about 66500 miles.

Nothing too crazy, Maperformance front pipe / test pipe, Plazmaman hot-side intercooler piping, Evo 8 waste gate actuator, I got a good deal on a synapse synchronic dv, fuel pump, appropriate gauges, 3 port boost control solenoid, COP, short shifter, evo 7 ECU and a tune. (so if anyone has the stock evo 8 waste gate actuator or an evo 7 ECU, shoot me a PM).

Thanks! This one was an auction grade 4c.. the interior needs some work but that is alright, the exterior is in excellent shape and there was no under body rust.. a tiny bit of surface rust on the spare tire carrier but that is all.

It took me a long time to win this one, I had lost 2 Evo 5's, both around the 80,000km mark, one was a 4b and one was a 4.5b... when this one came around I upped my max bid because I had already waited 5 months and really did not want to lose it. The previous owner is like my Japanese counterpart.. he did the mods I would have, changed the clear front corner lights to amber, put in the evo 5 tail light inserts, put stickers on the boot lid (which I did to my Subaru)... just a lot of things, I am really happy with the car. Plus I was leaning towards the Evo 6 after having read WRX vs Evo by Huw Evans.

The grass is all dead because it was covered in snow for the past 6 months :P you guessed it!

Thank you all for your kind words.
