Painting my Brake Calipers
Painting my Brake Calipers
So I bought the red caliper paint that's made for high temperatures. I also bought the brake cleaner to clean off the calipers before I paint them. My only question remains...
Should I just mask off the area I'm going to paint and leave the calipers on the car? Or should I remove the whole caliper which would require me to remove the break line and then I'd have to bleed my brakes afterwards?
Blah!
I know alot of you OZ people have done this. Let me know please! I don't want to mess anything up
keep in mind I have a RalliArt so I have 4 calipers..

if i were you i would remove the caliper from the rotor, but leave it propped up (say on a shoebox, for example), so that you do not have to disconnect the brake line. from there it is easier to mask what needs to be masked (ie the rotor, and whatever else might receive overspray, and it's also easier to get a full clean coat on the caliper; but again, without having to remove your brake line.

Omg, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the topic before I realized it wasn't an Evo. My first reaction was “NO!!! Don't paint the Brembos!!!!” Lol.
For what it's worth, I painted the calipers on my eclipse while they were still mounted on the car. I only painted what could be seen though the wheels though. This works if it's meant to be brushed on. If it's a spray paint you should dismount them and mask off anything you don't want paint on.
