Most HP with $8,000
Not trying to be a traitor or anything, but if I had over $8k sitting around on top of the price of a compact sedan, I would...
down payment on an evo
I mean, $16k + $8k = $24k That's enough for a used Evo right now, or about $300/month to pay the rest of a new one off.
For the record, though, if money wasn't an issue, I still wouldn't buy an Evo. I'm thinking Audi TT or something like that.

im with brian...no on evo...id go g35.....mitsu sucks when it coes to the evo...great car but crappy support from mitsu...but in your case...rrm non ic'd kit then put a bigger ic on it...thatll run about stage 1 price and get internals intake mani...TB...port and polish....you have a lot of different options...state your goals and get advice from there kina hard when you just say hp...theres a lot more than just getting hp...you have to think a bout longevity also....
Well... i don't have THAT much money sittin around. But i got a 2003 OZ with 4000 miles for $4950. Thats a brand new car basicly. Id rather just spend money i have and money i will make on the OZ then sell and buy a new car, i like the style of lancers with EVO body kits main reason i want a Lancer not just some other fast car.
i think u should sell the oz to some old ladie and buy a evo
if u put 8 into that oz ui'll never get ur money back and a oz ant worth much any if u by an evo lot;s of advantages u can buy a used 1 for like 23-26000

^ see...and if he spends it on an evo what says hell get that back...8k on mods you can get back just for the fact that he can part it out later...if he decides to selll the car...the car he got wasnt that much to begin with...8k in mods and you be at or about evo 1/4 times(stock evo)...hhhmmm...that makes it to be about 13k all together...ya its not an evo...but its just as fast as one
Aight i know i didn't detail much into what my question was but i will now. I want to know with about 8-10k can you make a lancer OZ manual anywhere close to EVO stock speed. Around 4.5-5.5 0-60, faster the better. 10k is about the limit of money + or - 1k.
Thanks
Thanks
There is no way you can come close with less than 15k, at least. The evo is built for speed, inside and out.The oz is built for economy, period. If I were you, I would get the hell out of the oz.
From floating around here for awhile, take care of what you need to have for the turbo before you get it: i.e. new internals, header back exhaust, suspension upgrade, rims/tires----then get the turbo. I haven't checked prices lately, but that'll probably run you around 8 or 9k depending if you do install on all of it. That's just my opinion though.

$8000, sell OZ, buy EVO
why cant the oz get to the hp of a evo with less than 10k? if you upgrade the pistons and rods, maybe a camshaft too- get turbo and run 13psi or above. i think its highly possible
