New guy from South America

Hello world! My name is Martin, I am 26 and I am from Uruguay (tiny country in SA). Unfortunately, being a 3rd World market Mitsubishi has a low profile presence, Evos are kind of impossible to find, Eclispses are very, very rare and we got stuck with plenty of old and slow Lancers GL and Colts GLX. We also got the new Mirages and Lancers but they are not so popular.

When I was 11, I fell inlove with a particular model that is very rare over here (only 100 cars of the model were imported to the country 19 years ago), I was fortunately enough to find one in very good shape six months ago. Its now my 1996 Mitsubishi Colt GTI.

I know this car is not common or even does not exist in USA, so for those who doesnt know, this is a Japanese built Lancer Hatchback with a 1.8L 4G93 DOHC (140HP) engine full stock specs goes 0-60 MPH in 7.8 secs and top speed of 135 mph. 5 speed manual gearbox FWD. I would say its a nice 3rd world hot hatchback.

Hi and welcome!

Thank you for writing about your car and posting pictures. I don't think I have ever seen a Colt GTI in the states, thank you for sharing! Have fun and again welcome to the community!
