Hello everyone. I am from SC but am currently living in Okinawa, Japan for work. These are my first Evos I have owned. They are both 1996s. I have had the red one for about a month now. I bought the silver one today. The silver one needs some work but I got it for pretty cheap. I will be lurking the forum regularly looking for information and trying to learn as much as possible about these cars so any knowledge and tips are welcomed!

You not being an actual citizen are you exempt from the yearly emissions and weight taxes for the vehicles?

I still have to comply with their JCI which is done every two years and from what I've been told they get pretty in depth with that and it can get kind of pricey. I also have to have normal insurance through a Japanese company. It is insanely low though from what I am used to in the states. I payed for a whole year of insurance on the red one and it was only $430 usd.

Also a little update. I have been busy getting the silver one in better shape. I gave it a quick wash, cleaned up the engine bay a little, changed the oil, put in some high octane gas, ripped the remainder of the front lip off and fixed the exhaust leak by putting on an HKS catback.

Welcome and "Omedeto" on 2 beautiful cars! When your time is done in Okinawa, are you bringing the cars back to The 'States? Looking forward to updates! "Gumbatte" , and "Arigato Gozaimasu!"

I would love to bring them back but unfortunately they will not be old enough for me to bring back when my time is up. I plan on selling these guys and buying an R32 GTR to bring back with me.

On another note I was finally able to upload some good pictures from my actual camera. Enjoy!
