When I bought my Lancer it had the factory nose mask on. I really like it because it does a good job of keeping the grasshoppers off my hood.
Anyway, I read the thread about the one dude that had a problem with his nose mask coming off at highway speeds.
I've had the same problem.....and it leaves a huge black mark across the front of my hood. The first time it happened, I took it in and the dealer gave me a new one and buffed out the mark.
I was driving about 70mph on the interstate and the nose mask started flapping around again. There wasn't an exit for miles and it was 10:30 at night...not really a great time to be stopping on interstate. I just took the nosemask off and noticed it left another huge black mark. I took the car in again and this time the dealer said that they had to call the factory rep and ask him what to do. Now he wants to look at my car because no one else has complained of having this problem.
Those little clips just don't do the trick on the plastic grill! They need a rubber coating to help grip or they need a better way to attach the middle part of that bra to the grill. Any opinions on this? I'm afraid the factory dude is going to tell me I'm out of luck and $150 for the nose mask that they won't replace.
Any ideas? Anyone else had an issue like this?

 

My car came with the bra also. The right bottom hook(passenger side)would'nt stay on the car so after a week I took it off. Then I found a **** load of dead bugs under there and the bra was starting to stain the paint so I said **** the bra. : I'd go without it if I was you......
