Hi, Just picked up my first evo, I've wanted one for about 10 years. Use to roll in DSM's back in the day, built a 4g63 motor or two, maybe one day I'll build this one. Looks like a muffler shop "custom" exhaust and a air filter are the only real mods. Hacked in HID and a terrible aftermarket stereo head unit. Owner before me did some cheap work on it for sure, I'll get it straightened out with time. For now from on it's way to it's new home!
My hood has a "Spirit of competition" sticker on the front and as you can see, is black. Was this a factory trim option with the black grill or is it done after the fact. Car is a GSR
That is a very nice looking Evo and your photo backdrop is spectacular. There must be many fun roads in your back yard. I'm not aware of any factory 'stickers' and thank you for the introduction.
I think the "spirit of competition" was a think put on either certain ralliart models, or maybe some special evo x models. I know it didn't come standard on the GSR.
So most likely the previous owner either sold the stock GG hood and bought the current one, or re-painted it black for some reason to contrast the red sticker. My bet is that he bought the current hood from someone else to get the competition sticker.

Probably. There is some light hail damage on it, but not on the rest of the car. It seems quite Japanese of a saying, something a little lost in translation. Like the "See you" on the display when you shut down. Like see you what? Later? See you when you're sleeping? I find it hilarious.
