Argh...it should be a 4G62 or the 4G93 (can't remember) since it was the "prototype" for the Evo. Person to ask about this would be Lan Evo.
Edit: It is the 4G93
Edit: It is the 4G93
A 4G93T is a 1.8 turbo engine that was on the Lancer GSR and put out ~195hp. The most common one is found on the 93-96 body style lancer. The GSR is also AWD. The engine dimension and configuration is very very close to the 1/2G DSM 4G63T and the EVO I-III engine.
For the 97-01 body style, there were only very few GSR were made and the 4G93T out put was increased for 5-10 hp (not sure how much exactly). The engine, like the EVO IV+ 4G63T, "turned" 180 degree to fit into the CN9A chassis (5G Mirage)

The later generation (96+) GSR is a super rare find, even compared to the EVOs.
It feature the 1.8 turbo engine with AWD (mechical LSD, not electronic gadgets like AYC) like I put in the FAQ. The output should be around 205-210 hp...
Even on the Yahoo GSR/EVO club, the specs and modification ideas are very hard to find since it's such a limited supply vehicle. How much is the owner charging, and what is the condition of the car? Any more pictures?

Standard New Shape GSRs are very common in new zealand and easy to get, there is quite a few for sale(maybe its where they all went), umm that one was about $21,000NZD which is around $9,700 US dollars, low kms 30-50,000 excellent condition, i have seen one for sale at a card yard near me for $13,995NZD ($6,500USD) but it had done 95000kms so yeh you can pick them up pretty cheap here
i plan to buy one with alot lower kms tho, then get an evo IV kit for it, also im wondering where to get the evo IV badges from?
Thank you very much for your help btw

So now I know where all those "super rare" GSRs went
you kiwis are lucky bunch
Make sure you have them run compression test and have a mitsu mechanic to check the condition first
Regarding the EVO IV badge, your best bet will be aftermarket replicas...or some junkyard for Japanese car
Try http://www.adelaidejap.com.au/ and http://www.japparts.com.au/ to see if they have anything for you

if you want to see the amount of GSR's for sale in NZ
then go to www.autopoint.co.nz -> used cars -> Mitsubishi -> GSR and press search
or look under Lancers

If the GSR's tiptronic gearbox is anything like my old lancer coupe then its pretty responsive, it reacts just about straight away.
I'd still go after a manual one though, thats what I have.
Plus im pretty sure they are only 4 speed autos not 5 speed.

I like that car...alot. And the price ($9,700 US) is really good. It's a shame North America didn't get the Lancer GSR because I really really like that car!
